Project developed between 2005 and 2007, the initiative Hispano American Health Link, aiming to improve management processes and maternal health care - child , and the technical quality of workers in areas rural Latin American countries through pilot projects in Peru, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela.
With its development, seeks to demonstrate the ability to improve public health care system mother - child in rural areas of Latin America, through the use of appropriate technologies for capture and transmission of biological signals, communications infrastructure and information access services.
Communication Strategies:
The project is based on the use of new information technologies and communication to improve health care for the mothers and children. Some of the activities made for this purpose are:
The completion and publication of a joint investigation into the needs of communication and information access to rural health workers in all countries involved in the experience, with particular emphasis on the field of maternal - child health .
The hardware and software development of a telemedicine station maternal - infant, whose technical specifications allow remote monitoring of patients, and to respect the conditions of technical feasibility (effectiveness, reliability and usability) and economic reality imposes rural region.
The implementation of systems and services developed in at least 5 (Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela) of the 10 countries involved in the consortium, through projects that are already conducting research groups of the proposal.
Conducting an impact assessment in the clinical process and patient health resulting from the use of Rural Telemedicine System for Maternal and Child Health.
Promoting the spread of rural telemedicine through the execution of an Ibero-American Forum and the publication of a book on the outcome of rural telemedicine project in the area of \u200b\u200bmaternal and child health, which are reflected technical specifications of equipment and methods used in the project, and recommendations for health sector managers, communications and political science, with the intention of promoting the development of this discipline.
